This rating should be applied to the Hamilton Inn Select as they called me the day before my stay and said the Econolodge Bayview was doing some renovating and the Hamilton Inn Select accomodated my reservation...so to rate them... The service was great...the room was fantastic...temperpedic bed made me sleep like a baby...the breakfast buffet was decent...the only small complaint I would have had was the public pool and jacuzzi was so crowded we couldn't even get into the jacuzzi and at 9 oclock at night there were way to many little kids there for that time of night...but that is not the hotels fault...just poor parenting decisions...

The hotel was great for our family. We stayed in the motel portion right on the lake. We were able to park the car right outside the room for easy access. The 2 pools were great and the weather cooperated and allowed us to use the outdoor pool during our entire stay. We loved the nightly bonfire and the large picnic area allowed us to use our grill and make our own meals on several of the nights that we stayed. Very quite, would definitely recommend for a family stay. We hope to stay again.

Service was excellent - accommodations very clean and adequate - breakfast was served very nicely - a little crowded for the number of people, but it served three different Lodges. Would definitely go there again -

It's not the Four Seasons by any stretch of the imagination but for a family staying with 2 young kids the price and amenities can't be beat! It was typical Mackinac fall weather during our visit,cold, windy and rainy but the water park (which was bigger and nicer than I had anticipated) was a great distraction for the kiddos. The huge hot breakfast bar with make your own waffles was great to "load up"on before heading out in the weather. For $49 a night for the 5 of us, we didn't even feel like we paid for the room, which was way spacious even if a little old. We stayed 2 nights here and headed for the island for a additional 2. Truth be told we wish we would have just done a day trip to the island this time and would have stayed all 4 nights at this hotel as the kids got sort of bored on the island. If the rates stay this low we will be back again this year and a couple times next year - we can afford "mini vacations" at this price!

I like how they have redone the chalets indoors. The room suited our needs. Really enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the mornings. The only thing I had to do on Saturday was find the maid to get us clean towels and more coffee for Sunday. I don't think they would have stopped by as it was about 3 pm when I did this. I had already made the bed,and that wasn't a big deal to me, but I do think they should stop by and restock. Other than that, everyone was very freindly.

The staff was very cheerful and helpful and the accommodations clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the generous breakfast. I was allowed to park my car there between our two stays when my sister and I shared her car on our trip to the upper peninsula.

Great price, close to water park, the breakfast was a little disorganized, but it was fairly busy. The room seemed cleaner the second which was weird. The water park was great, but there is no supervision and a lot of parents there don't pay attention to their children so you have to watch if it gets busy.

Though we did not spend much time in the room in the small cabin, we felt the set up of the room was very uncomfortable. We could not hang up anything as it hung over the table. The t.v. was on the desk and therefore the desk could not be used for it's intended purpose. There was just too much stuff crammed into a small space. The price of the room was inviting and the continental breakfast was very nice.

"Chalet" was quaint. While there, we found out it as built in 1933. I can believe it. It has been updated and was clean. The Econolodge staff was good. The breakfast bar in the adjoining Comfort Suite dining room was plentiful and good. I would stay at the Econolodge again, but would probably pay more for a more modern accomodation. Overall, we enjoyed the "quaintness".

We found our room clean and comfortable and ready upon our early arrival. We had grandkids with us and between the playground and waterpark all ages were happy. The huge breakfast buffet was outstanding and contained something to meet everyones tastes. We would recommend the motel to anyone.

We had a great time while we were there. The free breakfast was quite adequate. The room was priced right, clean and nicely kept each day. I had my daughter & 2 granddaughters with me & we all enjoyed the inside pools & water park. We would all enjoy a return trip.

The hotel was clean, staff was friendly and also very close to shopping and ferry boat. Loved the pool area & breakfast that was included was very good. The price was very good for our stay and I'm staying at the hotel again the first week of October. We travel to Mackinaw City atleast three times a year for the different running races and I'm always looking for affordable lodging.

The cabin was clean and very nice. We had a cabin next to some people and could hear them through the walls. They were not loud, I think the walls were just thin. That was our only complaint. We would stay again.

We stayed in one of the smaller cabins and really enjoyed it. The bedrooms were clean and brighter than we anticipated. The bathroom could be updated, but was fine. The main reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because when I booked the room I was told we would be in a cabin. When we got there they tried to put us in the 2-story motel in the back of the property. Although it looked nice, the kids had their hearts set on sleeping in a log cabin. I never saw on the website that there was a motel portion. I think that should have been more clear.

Overall Good, Staff were pleasant but concerned when we requested extra bedding and towels. Our Chalet slept 6 but My oldest son had to sleep on a sofabed which needed blankets and pillows, It didnt have this in the room and there were only 4 sets of towels so we needed one more. When we reserved our room we did specify the number of guests in our party. I felt we were putting them out by asking for what we needed. Other than that our stay was very nice.

We previously stayed at the Hamilton and it was a much nicer hotel. For the price the Econolodge was a good place to stay. There are not many extras but it was much cheaper. Overall it was okay.

My husband and I stayed in the jacuzzi room. It was marvelous! We often request rooms with jacuzzis, but this one was the best, and biggest, tub we've ever had. Not only that, the room was quaint and comfortable, the housekeeping was great, and the waffles at breakfast were quite good. We also appreiciated the magazine with the history of Mackinac/Mackinaw and the maps with places to go and to eat. Would definitely stay here again.

I loved the cabins! They were a great change from the dreary hotel rooms. However, the tv in the bedroom did not work well at all, and I did not have enough room between the bed and the wall to get in and out of the bed. I would recommend a smaller bed and upgrade the tv. Other than that, I really liked staying at your hotel.

Very nice room and nice buffet in the mornings. We did not use the pool but it looked very nice. We really enjoyed our time there and plan to come back next summer.

The staff at the Econolodge were top notch-friendly, informative, helpful. The room was clean comfortable, dependable TV reception, AC unit worked well and the bathroom was spotless. I would stay there again in a minute. The location was also helpful - near the boat shuttles to Mackinac Island, restaurants, shopping, and access to the highway (1-75)and bridge. The natural wood finish in the interior of our rooms was very much in keeping with Michigan.

We've stayed at the Econolodge for the past three years in a row. We stayed in your older cabins (good), last year we stayed in the newer cabins (awesome) and, in July, we stayed in a regular room. They were all clean and comfortable. We plan on staying at the Econolodge again in a couple of months, not to visit the island, which we did in previous visits, but to relax and enjoy the city, itself and the Irish Pub and just walking around town. We prefer the smaller hotel over the larger ones.

We stayed two nights. We reused our towels 2nd day which was fine, but housekeeping took all of wet washcloths and didn't replace them. A call to the office got us more cloths promptly. Our 6 and 9 year old children don't like big, scary, water slides and found the water park just right. It's designed for the younger crowd, and I'd think more adventurous 9 or 10 year olds might become bored with it quickly. The Continental breakfast queue is poorly organized since the make-your-waffle irons are in the hot food line. The hot line gets backed up as the people wait 3 minutes each for their waffles before moving on. It seems obvious (to me!) that the waffle makers require a separate queue from the hot food, to move more people through the hot food line more quickly. Food quality is about what you'd expect from a mass-produced breakfast bar, nothing spectacular, but still a good value for the price of the room. Overall, nothing spectacular, but a good experience.

mike and yvette are really wonderful managers and i like staying there because of them and the area it is located and the pool and breakfast and the rooms are very nice. the night before we had to go to quality inn and stay which was nice, but there was no parking. breakfast and mike was super. vivian speakman 4850 gloria st. wayne, mi 734-722-4672. we stay at that hotel for all those reasons. except the charges were more than i thought unfair. for a week day.

The room was very neat and clean - there was ample room for the three of us. The breakfast was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I woud definately recommend your motel to friends and I would stay again.

Its the first time we have been in your fine city we had such a wonderful time and staying in the little cabins was such a blast my wife and I truly loved it. The 4th of July celebration was tremendous we will return hopefully before the end of summer. Going to the island was unreal cant wait to get back also loved the location thanks for a wonderful time Bob and Terri Wilson.

The room and pool area were nice and a great deal for the price. I would have given it outstanding if the breakfast was better. They were not keeping stocked up very well and the biscuits were extremely hard. Besides that I really enjoyed the hotel and will most likely stay again.

Were almost given wrong room (hotel instead of requested cabin) at check-in. It was corrected to our satisfaction. Coffeemaker worked improperly (not a big deal) At checkout tried to charge us more for the extra night than quoted. Once again, Corredted to our satisfaction. Overall, would I stay there again? yes! Everyone was very helpful especially, Mike Nau. I'm pretty sure I have his name right. I would like to acknowledge, Roselynn, of the housekeeping staff. She went above and beyond to provide excellent service.

Clean. Front desk lady was very nice. When I made my reservation I had requested to be up front. Last year I was told no, this year she put me exactly where I wanted to be. I was traveling alone and I felt much more secure being up front. Room was very nice and very clean.

Beautifule cabin. Good pool. Great breakfast. Didn't use indoor pool or water park. Great value for 4+ occupants (we only had two). Negative: How to get to breakfast at the other building was not explained by staff. Thanks.

We thought the waterpark and breakfast was at the hotel we booked (by the ad) it was actually in the hotel next door. Despite that the kids had a great time in the waterpark and the breakfast was very good. The access to the private beach was a dissappointment, we found the beach to be dirty- not the place to relax. The hotel was clean and our stay was nice. We liked having a little porch to sit on but we couldn't because of all the bugs. Overall we would stay there again and enjoyed our trip

We had great service. We got their and there was not a fridge in our room and within 1 hour we had a new fridge. Anytime we had an issue with noise it was taken care of. The breakfast was awesome and very friendly staff. The front desk staff were very accomadating and friendly as well.

when we first arrived we were in a two bedroom cottage, it was small but clean, we were offered a upgrade to the newly built log cabins. we changed to the log cabin and it was great it was large clean and well kept. the hotel employees were more than helpful, polite and curtious.

We stayed in one of the chalet's they had, and we had misunderstood their ad and thought we were getting a log cabin. Other than that, the chalet was super clean, the night worker was very polite and orderly. We would totally stay here again, but this time we would know we would be staying in a chalet not one of the new cabins! Definitely recommended!

We enjoy staying in "Mom & Pops" venues whenever possible and the Econolodge, with its cabins, fills the bill nicely while providing the amenities of a new first class hotel. We enjoyed the stay and the ability to have our dog with us was a plus. The staff was courteous and friendly and the cabin was spotless. This is our second stay with them and being able to experience a bit of old Mackinaw City will be missed when the older cabins are replaced. But we will stay again when in town.
