Love the setup with bathroom and kitchenette in the middle. Loved the litte patio/balcony to sit and enjoy the peaceful water. Parking very close to our room. Pool and hot tub were wonderful. Overall we were very pleased with our stay, except that the alarm clock was broken [well it worked but was completely missing the face/casing around the clock]and i couldn't get the tv to work in the first room the one time i tried it. I think a dvd would have worked, but i didn't have a dvd i just wanted to watch cable, and i couldn't figure out how to switch it and there were no instructions.These comments are from a verified stay108 people found this helpful. The staff was verypolite and hhelpful, the breakfast was great not just your bagels and cold cereal choices, the sausage & gravy was excellent. The only setback was the laundry room on the 4th floor...it smelled like dirty socks or something. There was no air freshener or even a window to crack open when dryer was going so room got real hot and smelly with the heat. She was very helpful and kept the place very clean. everyone at the front desk knew the answeres to my questions and even suggested a great place to eat in town. It was extremely clean and the beds were great. Pool area was inviting and clean (even though it was the last 1/2 hour open). Breakfast was the very good with many different options. We also really enjoyed the pool and the free passes to the water park. The hotel staff were all very friendly and also very helpful. The hotel was very clean and inviting, Jon the manager was not only friendly each morning he made suggestions of things to see and in the area. We have been vacation in Mackinaw Cit for many years and I have to say and give kudos to Mackinaw Bay and Beach Resort for their outstanding customer care and your manager Jon! When they told me, I was so upset with myself but they were absolutely wonderful and did everything in their power to make the accommodations for us. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The location and the view of the bay/bridge was perfect. We especially loved the patio; having the bed beside the large windows on the water was soothing and the perfect spot to see morning sunrises. Our one (small) complaint was the noise caused by a worker using a leaf blower to clear the beach for an entire afternoon: there has to be a better way! Breakfast: 4* Hot breakfast had healthy selections and was adequate, but I wasn't allowed to bring food to room for my kid who slept in. Beach: 3* Not as sandy as pictured in ad. A bit icky with plants & grasses near the water. We ended up not playing at the hotel's private beach.
