Allows pets, but needs to have a designated pet rooms area, shared with hotel staff. Someones pet was let out by hotel staff when cleaning. Because outside sliding doors were stuck open, dog escaped building but was found by local police. Poor dog was safely returned to owners, who were quite understandably upset. The location is convenient to shops and restaurants. The ferry shuttle picked us up and returned us to the hotel for free. The main disappointment was the pool and spa area at the neighboring hotel which was available to use. The pool water was cloudy, and the spa jets did not work. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious for two people. Some complaints I have include the small TV, the dirty faucet in our bathroom, and the drain in the shower was REALLY dirty although you couldnt tell unless u put a washrag over it. Yes, thete a mini coffee pot in the motel room, which I would have had to use in the bathroom as the lights, phone,TV cable and clock took all available outlets. I didn't feel like walking to the nearest coffee shop when a lobby was right downstairs. The lobby was very cold because the doors were left open all the time. When I walked in the lobby, there was nothing welcoming about it. Probably because any hotel Ive ever stayed in always had gift type items for sale , hot coffee, tea, or cocoa for guests. it was just stark kind of empty. Only furniture in the lobby. The Murrow in the bathroom had a large section where the silvering had failed for example. After reading some other reviews of this place I was nervous. The room was way overpriced, but so are the majority of hotels in this area. No breakfast, which was disappointing. We enjoyed our stay.A few thingsBaysides lobby isnt open and you have to check in on the other side (crown view). In the confirmation of the reservation that should be said. Also, the lady at crow side checking in also could have let us know while we were checking in that we would need wrist bands (from her) to get into the water park. We walked all the way to the water park (which from bayside is a pretty hefty walk and also through some construction that has rough wood floors (sub floor) and an elevator ride) just to figure out that we needed wrist bands and to sign a waiver for each individual in the room (yikes). Also, no microwaves in the room but we found one in the future breakfast area of crown view (the hotels are attached) so we were able to warm up some things. Other than those few things, which Im not complaining this is more to inform, we had a good stay. We also werent aware that Mackinac City is pretty seasonal. Every thing shuts down Oct 31, the weekend before our visit. I think we found 2 open restaurants and Audies was great! The girl at the desk was vacuuming the rugs when we walked in, and asked us to step out of her way so she could finish before helping us check in. After that, she was nice enough, explained how all the amenities were in different places (didn't see that part on the website). We got to the room, it was alright, my only complaint about that was the walls. They were full of scuffs! The walls desperately needed to be washed, made the room look dingy. Had to check into our hotel at a different hotel down the road. No one was working at the hotel we stayed in. We couldnt get the television to work, had to call the other hotel to get maintenance to come over and fix it. Then we had to back to the other hotel to check out and for breakfast. My only complaint would be the outdated carpet in the rooms, my girlfriend ended up stepping on a carpet nail and cutting her foot before our night out, also the dirty shower head in the bathroom. Other than those two things we enjoyed our stay.
