The hotel is close to everything, especially the ferry. The staff is attentive and cordial. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable, however the furnishings and decor could use an upgrade. Breakfast was plentiful and was well stocked. We didnt have to wait. We had a lakeside room- clean and it was a beautiful view. Housekeeping would ask if we needed anything. The linen staff was friendly and provided us with access to clean linens, soap, trash bags etc. All around it was one of the best stays I've had in my 40 years of traveling the great United States of America. I greatly appreciated the beauty of one of the remarkable cities in my home state, making our Honeymoon a fantastic adventure we will never forget. Very good breakfast buffet, lots of choice. This was an overnight stay on a long (16 hour) drive between Toronto and Minneapolis. Mackinaw City is about mid-way for us. The only minor issue with the hotel was the lack of accessible power plugs to use in the room. My wife and I each have a cpap for our sleep apnea and we had to move heavy furniture in the room so we could each plug in our CPAPs.
