Blue Water Beachfront HotelFairview Beachfront Inn Casey from Adrian stayed in August 2016Had a slight issue when we checked in, our reservation wasn't in the computer system, but there was a paper copy of it. After just a few minutes though we were actually upgraded a room, so it worked out very well. We all loved the beach area, and the pool and splash pad were fun for my kids. Everything was clean, jacuzzi in room, on the ground floor beach access, quiet, fires on the beach at night, excellent breakfast but on the second day it did run out of most of the food which was disappointing but it was the busiest weekend I've the year so I can't be too upset. Staff were friendly. It wasn't cheap but was cheaper than the rest around. I have absolutely no idea why the other reviews are bad- I almost cancelled because of the reviews but I'm so glad I didn't. We will return- perfect stay. The water park is more like a splash area for toddlers though- nothing that an adult would use. You can get a clean, roomy, beautiful sandy beachfront room with a jacuzzi for considerably less than the adjacent competitors, and free breakfast. The hotel was very near the ferry, but it far enough away from the center of town that there wasn't too much hustle bustle. Mid-September weekday rates were very reasonable. The breakfast was ok, something to get you going, with adequate protein. So called water park was just a splash park if you are familiar with that term. The hotel hot tub for guests was cold broke and dirty. I have stayed at other hotels in mackinaw and have never had a complaint. I was a little worried about staying here after reading some of the reviews. Well you can't make everyone happy all the time. When checking in the front desk staff was very friendly and didn't make you wait , they stopped what they were doing to assist guests. The rooms, we had a beach front suit on the 5th floor. It was very comfortable , nice set up, very clean, and very quiet. The balcony was very nice , you couldn't see the room next to you, so very private. We watched the fireworks from the balcony. The pool areas were very clean and warm. The price of the rooms was very reasonable, you could easily pay more for this hotel. We will defiantly stay there again.
