The people are warm friendly and very knowledgeable. I love the fact that they want to help. This is me and my husband's 2nd time in this hotel. I would never go anywhere else. (A great plus) But, there were some items that the hotel didn't have, that would have been an added plus. I ran the half marathon on Mackinac Island, and really needed simple carbs and fruit. The only fruit there was, was a fruit cocktail. Whole fruits, by themselves would have been great. Also, yogurt would be a plus. Plenty of room for the kids, and the breakfast in the morning was a nice bonus. We only stayed here two nights--one before jumping on the ferry the next morning, and the next time two days later after catching the last ferry back. My only concern was what looks like a drainage ditch along west side of hotel with garden hoses running into it. It was fairly empty when we checked in but at night you could hear water running into it. In the morning it was full. Just seems a little fishy ,unsanitary and unsightly next to the lake.
