We got the King Room with a Jacuzzi tub, went out for a nice dinner at the Dixie Saloon, went to the casino for a bit, and had a nice breakfast at Audie's the next morning. It was cold and blustery outside, or we would have extended for another day. Great place to stay, we may come back in better weather sometime. We only live 2 hours away, but felt like we got out of Dodge for a day and it was very restful!These comments are from a verified stay

Hamilton Inn Select Beachfront HotelHamilton Inn Select Beachfront Dana from Montrose stayed in March 2022The room (and wintry view) was beautiful, the jacuzzi was wonderful, and everyone was super friendly. THEN, because of ridiculously inclimate weather in Houghton (where I was headed after my stay at Hamilton to pick up my son at MTU), we had to just TURN AROUND and head back to beat ice. We arrived in Mackinaw City and the Hamilton again at 1:30 am, exhausted, to a full parking lot of snowmobilers. The clerk on duty found us a room, gave us a discount because it was so late, and bumped the check-out time 'till noon. I will never forget his kindness. The view onto the lake, piers and islands was very relaxing and the pool was wonderful. The purpose of our stay was to relax and enjoy which the Hamilton Inn Select provided. The staff was very pleasant, but I must say even for being winter time, they gave us a flyer with all the restaurants on it but all of them were closed, I feel as if they should have let us know because only 3 whole restaurants were open during our stay. For winter time please make sure you get good plow people to do the entire parking lot. Due to trucks/trailers taking up half the lot not many other spots for regular vehicles to park we ended up having to make our own spot due to no spots being available due to parking lot not being plowed correctly. It says free breakfast but it is a paper bag with a granola bar apple and water bottle…not breakfast! And there is no coffee in the lobby. I read the reviews and thankfully I brought my coffee maker coffee and cups with me!!! There isn’t a microwave either to heat up food. The only reason I couldn't give a 5 star rating was the coffee in the rooms were not sufficient. I love when hotels have large fresh coffee in the lobby and for those place not to have that available was sad. I had to go down the road to Marathon Gas station to get decent coffee in the mornings . We liked the room and the kids could play and run around. The only thing was that when I went to give my daughter a shower in the second bathroom there was hair all over the tub and walls and also on the floor next to the tub like someone had cut their hair in the bathroom. I had to clean that up before letting her take a shower. There were 2 house keepers in there before we were able to take the room and neither of them saw or looked hard enough to see that the tub and floor was clean or dirty. This time the desk people were not helpful. Upon checkin after advance reservations requesting two rooms close together because of being elderly we were placed 20 rooms apart. I retuned to the front desk to request something closer having to remind the young lady that she had seen my 85 year old mom walking with a cane and that she could not be that far away from us. She begrudgingly found us another room and apparently gave us the rooms for three nights instead of the four nights that I requested by reservation and in person. The next problem arose after our third day when we returned to our rooms to find that the keys didn’t work. I walked downtown the desk and was told that we had been checked out and the desk help insisted it was my fault because I initialed the incorrect paperwork upon checkin not noticing that it was for three days instead of four. I showed them my reservations. From there it got worse, Mom standing in the hallway with my husband waiting to get in to our rooms. A young blonde girl kept goading me on, she took extreme delight in my loss of control when I left the lobby crying because they wouldn’t give me Moms key saying that she had to come to the desk and get it. Finally the young man brought the key down and apologized to Mom for the mixup. This is not the kind of treatment that we have ever received from Hamilton Inn Select in the past. We take lots of road trips and all the room we booked had microwave. Just late snack heat up for the kids. Very nice view and roomy. Perfect for family of 4. Several customers at checkout advised staff of issues with items broke or not working in their rooms. Staff never took note of the problems or the room number. No Breakcast, grab and go bag.
