Some of the Receptionists were nice informative and friendly, the one who helped us did not provide us with any info until we ask. We were told our room was damaged, so we were upgraded to a suite- it was beautiful! And had a view of the lake👍🏻 The location of the hotel was perfect- close to everything and easy access to the ferry to Mackinac Island. Francesca checked us in and was absolutely wonderful- fun, informative, efficient-quite a welcomed greeting after a long day of travel! I had asked, if possible for a "no charge" upgrade when I originally booked our room on line, not really thinking we would get it, but.....we did! First time ever! They gave us a lake view room with a balcony. The room was very clean and fresh and the front desk staff were awesome! There was a towel and clothing left in front of our unit the whole time we were there. So never cleaned up. Would of been nice to be able to access beach from room since on first floor. Had patio but railing had no gate. Understand may be a safety thing but couple Other rooms had no railing and open to beach. The breakfast offerings were varied and good but the dining room was woefully understaffed with, apparently, just one worker refilling serving dishes and clearing tables.
