Located on Lake Huron, the Comfort Inn Lakeside is one of Mackinaw City's finest. Excellent for swimming and sunbathing, our private sandy beach features a large sundeck and beach furniture. Enjoy the cool, sparkling water and the most fantastic views of Mackinac Island, the Island ferryboats, and the many beautiful and interesting sights and sounds of the famous Straits of Mackinac.
An elegant blend of colonial and traditional themes creates a comforting, relaxing atmosphere at the Comfort Inn Lakeside. All of our guest rooms offer two queen or one king-sized bed. Many of the rooms offer private balconies overlooking the lake, and in-room whirlpools are also available. A deluxe continental breakfast is served each morning on the lakefront. Refrigerators, telephones, PC hook-up and remote control flat screen televisions are standard in all our accommodations. For our guests' enjoyment, we also have an indoor swimming pool and the largest indoor whirlpool in Mackinaw City.

The ability to get free passes to the Vista Beach Swim park was also a great plus that we used everyday. The only thing that prevented this from getting an outstanding rating was the very cramped breakfast area. While there is outside seating, when it is rainy and cold, and people are not using those outside tables there was very little space to sit to have breakfast and we had to wait to find space to eat. The room was like new and everything was wonderful. Staff was great! The breakfast area could stand to be a little bigger, but selection was great and clean and the hostesses were very friendly and tried hard to please. Comfort Inn Lakeside HotelComfort Inn Lakeside Dawn from Princeton stayed in August 2016Right on the beach. :) Very brief walk and you are in the center of things to do and eaterys. Queen bed room was great! Balcony faced the Lake and was very peaceful! Breakfast area was very overcrowded though to even get through breakfast line and hotel was so busy that they were temporarily out of 5-6 foods (yogurt, eggs, cream chese, sausage, waffle batter, coffee, syrup, fresh fruit) for a good 15-20 minutes at a time. I thought our stay was very overpriced to have only 1 server refilling breakfast area whike there was a good 30+ people wanting food... Most just gave up and had cereal to take back to there room. Despite this, we WERE lucky enough to secure a patio table space right outside ON the sugary-sand beach which was amaing and we did have time to lounge some at our table and wait for all the foods to be refilled one cartfull at a time. Server was great, but just verrry swamped. We watched boats come into docks and joyful kids swimming in lake and the peace of the lakefront while we sat and ate our breakfast. :) Would definitely return, for a much lower price though. It's non smoking but people were smoking on the balcony. Make sure you call the front desk and tell them. It was disappointing that we couldn't enjoy being out on the balcony because of that.
